In response to COVID-19, Governor Pritzker signed Public Act 101-635 into law on Friday, June 5, 2020. This bill allows all qualified exemptions for levy year 2019 payable in 2020 including: Homestead Exemption for Persons with Disabilities, Standard Homestead Exemption for Veterans with Disabilities, and Senior Citizen Assessment Freeze Homestead Exemption to be automatically renewed and processed without re-application for 2020 payable in 2021.
